A mum appeared to have packed something a little extra into the weekly shop for her husband, after he discovered a suspicious piece of packaging in their bin following her trip to Aldi.

As you can see from the above image, if you were to look at that you might be forgiven for thinking it once contained a sex toy.

At any rate, that's certainly what this woman's husband thought - and she couldn't wait to tell people on the Aldi Mums Facebook group.

The amused mum wrote: "Husband found this in the recycling and was wondering what I'd bought at Aldi.

"When I told him it was the packaging to the cordless shaver he just looked at me strangely."

It turns out husband thought he was about to have a rather more exciting night than he'd bargained for. Sadly for him it, although the item his wife had actually bought could well be used in similar regions to a sex toy, it's unlikely to bring too much joy when doing so.

The post quickly became very popular indeed, with social media users keenly diving in to offer their thoughts on the situation.

One woman wrote: "I bet he was disappointed to hear it was a shaver!"

Another user wrote: "Hahaha my husband doesn't believe you either."

A third meanwhile commented: "Now I can call mine a cordless shaver if anyone asks."

The most popular reply though was: "Rinse out and use as a chocolate mold."

That certainly would be economical, we suppose.

Perhaps with the festive season drawing near, those looking to spice up their sex lives better take a trip to Boots.

That's because the retail chain are selling a sex toy advent calendar so that you can count down to Christmas in exciting style.

The advent calendar includes vibrators, nipple clamps, restraints and massage accessories behind its doors, with the toys getting ever more adventurous until you get to the climax on 25 December.

Describing the kit, Boots said: "Much more exciting than chocolate, this advent calendar is bursting with toys, gifts, games and light bondage pieces, just waiting to be played with.

"Open each mystery door in the morning for a dawn delight, or save the excitement for a far-from-silent night in."

It definitely beats using a cordless shaver that's for sure.
