It's tough enough being a parent without being spooked by your kids' accessories. For comedian and TV host Paddy McGuinness, his daughter's bag has clearly been giving him sleepless nights.

McGuinness posted a picture of his daughter's bright pink rucksack on Friday, with the caption: "My youngest daughter has the world's creepiest rucksack! Every time I pick it up I hear the Omen music!!!! #friday #rucksack #freaksmeout #daughters #staysafe"

From the image, it's certainly easy to understand why it would give the star the creeps. The bag features an apparently sleeping baby wearing some some kind of half unicorn, half otter outfit.

The doll's costume also has a purple and yellow fluffy heart on the belly and strange three-finger silver hands that also sort of look like flippers. Pretty weird.

Paddy wasn't alone in his horror, with many fans equally terrified of the bag.

One of the presenter's followers wrote: "Oh dear god! That is the stuff of nightmares!!"

Another quipped: "I'd be sleeping with one eye open."

It turns out that the backpack comes from Smiggle's Sleepy Sprouts range, all of which come in their own special stylised colours and outfits, across a range of items such as bags, keyrings and pencil cases. All look as freaky as each other.

The production description from the website reads: "Take a deep dive into our magical under the sea inspired Splash Sleepy Sprouts collection.

"The backpack is adorned with a plush, non-removable Splash Sleepy Sprout character that has glimmering and embroidered details."

More recently on his Instagram, Paddy's has posted a teaser trailer for the upcoming Top Gear series - featuring THAT car crash.

Back in June it was reported that the co-host of the show had crashed a £250,000 red Lamborghini Diablo, and the trailer features the car spinning uncontrollably towards some grass, before the screen cuts to black.

The new series was filmed during lockdown with a socially distanced audience spread out in their cars in front of a large stage where the three presenters stand. It's the long-running show's 29th series and looks like it's going to be their wildest yet.

It will start screening on the BBC in October.
