Divorces can get real messy, real fast, especially when it comes to divvying up the goods. And while most couples quibble over the usual stuff - the house, the car, the antiques, the record collection - William Shatner had other worries on his mind when splitting from his wife Elizabeth.

He won his case to claim ownership of their horse semen... no, seriously.

The Metro reports that the Star Trek actor filed for divorce from his now-ex back in December 2019 after 18 years together.

A prenup was reportedly in place to take care of the financial matters, no problems there, and the pair didn't have kids together. However, they still had a lot to divvy up, including their horses.

Being a keen horse breeder, Shatner - who played Captain James T. Kirk in the original series - reportedly found out he'd get to keep 'all horse semen' and equipment in the settlement, as well as two of their equines - Renaissance Man's Medici and Powder River Shirley.

He also got custody of their two dogs as well, the delightfully-named Macchiato and Double Espresso.

But Elizabeth didn't go home empty handed, as she also got two horses: Belle Reve's So Photogenic and Pebbles. These two had a real knack for pet names.

According to TMZ, the judge has already signed off the divorce, so that's a done deal for marriage #4 for Shatner and #2 for Elizabeth - here's hoping that if they do decide to wed again, they'll come up with a contingency plan for their stallions before tying the knot.
