Getting your parents a birthday present is hard enough at the best of times, but what do you get them for the real milestones? Don't do what this woman did:

While some might take them on holiday or treat them to a fancy meal, for her father's 60th, Dalia Rooni, from Los Angeles, thought it would be nice to mark it by getting a tattoo of an old photo of the pair together.

On the face of it, that's a very sweet idea. Sadly, however, the execution wasn't quite what she was hoping for.

While the image was supposed to be of Dalia wiping her face on her and her dad, Kamal's, t-shirt, it ended up looking like something much, much cruder.

Speaking to LADbible, Dalia says: "The photo was taken in Dubai when I was a little kid. We used to dune bash on sand dunes and I had sand in my eyes and he let me use his shirt to try and clean it out.

"It used to be one of the sweetest photos."

She goes on: "I went with two girlfriends to get the tattoo, and only noticed the next day when at work when this Kiwi guy Toby (important because it was funny in his accent) yelled, 'Is that a blow job!?'.

"Took me months to stop crying about it and embrace it instead (hence the video log). Long story short... I don't talk to the girlfriends who I went to get the tattoo with anymore."

But while it was a bit of a shock at first, the actor learned to embrace the awkwardness and started an Instagram account where she films people's reactions to it.

She said: "The Instagram page features people I met on first dates, last dates, first hangs, movie sets, the gym, 10 year reunions, really anywhere!

"It was always meant for me as more of a finsta."

Dalia is now, however, in the process of getting it removed as she's sick of having to explain it to people.

Which is fair enough, I guess.

She explained: "At some point, I've gotten tired of people screaming WHAT IS THAT at my arm, or judging me for being an idiot so I've decided to get it removed.

"Maybe I'll keep it half on half off as a reminder that there can always be a silver lining.

"Also, you wouldn't believe how much sharing this tattoo with people makes them comfortable to share their own s****y tats! It's the best ice breaker I've ever had! I've seen ass tats, lip prints from exes, symbols that look like cult markings, tramp stamps, you name it!"
