A woman has been turning people's stomachs after posting a video of her cleaning her husband's favourite pillows for the first time in five years. You can see just how much dirt came out of them below:

TikToker @pwincesslexx uploaded the video six days ago (6 August) captioned: "Stripping my husband's pillows after 5 years."

The American mum begins with putting two very brown pillows into the bath while soaking it with hot water.

Next, she adds a load of washing detergent, then adding some scent boosting beads.

Afterwards, she sprinkles a bit of OXI Clean stain-removal powder, while letting the pillows soak in the mix for the whole day.

Well, only you know how often you wash your pillows, however, the video showed just how much dirt can form underneath those layers.

Once the water's drained, the bathtub is mad filthy and only God knows what it smelt like.

One user wrote: "Whoever owns these pillows is immune to Covid."

While a second argued: "Everyone saying to throw them away has never had a comfort item in their life."

To be fair mate, a teddy bear is probably considered a comfort item, not a dirty old pillow.

Each to their own I guess.

A final user added: "Y'all love coming on the internet to share how you lack basic hygiene."

He isn't wrong.

Well, it isn't just pillows that hide dirt. Wooden spoons are said to be rather filthy and a fellow TikToker has revealed how to clean them.

User @miss.clean.with.me posted a video of the cleaning method in action, writing in the caption: "I was not prepared for this. TikTok teaches me so much!"

In the clip, the 20-year-old student teacher places a seemingly-clean wooden spoon in an empty glass, before filling it up with boiling water from the kettle.

As she leaves the spoon, fat and dirt from the wood begins to seep out into the water, which becomes visibly murky.

After giving it a shake, she removes the spoon from the glass, leaving large pieces of residue floating around in the glass.

Lovely.
