A woman in India has been accused of chopping off her husband's penis and testicles and flushing them down the toilet because she thought that he was having an affair.

Sukhwant Kaur stands accused of the horrific act against her husband, Azad Singh whilst he slept, reports the Mail Online.

The police say that she waited until he drifted off to sleep before beating him senseless with a rod until he was unconscious.

Once he was out cold she allegedly chopped off his genitals and then got rid of them down the toilet in their house in the Indian district of Joginder Nagar.

Satinder Kumar, the Assistant Commissioner of Police for the city of Jalandhar, told the paper: "The woman first hit her husband with a rod when he was sleeping which left him unconscious. Thereafter, she chopped off his private parts with a knife and then disposed them in a toilet."

Needless to say, Mr Singh is in a bad way. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries and profuse bleeding. His condition is thought to be serious.

Sukhwant Kaur was arrested after a complaint was lodged by Mr Singh's father, with the investigation ongoing.

Last October a man in India successfully had his penis reattached after it had been cut off after his lover found out that he was due to marry another woman.

The man - known only as Irshad - met up with his lover but she had found out about upcoming wedding to a bride of his parent's choosing.

She nearly completely severed his penis, but after a long surgery it was successfully reattached.

Dr. Krishnakumar, a senior consultant at the hospital that performed the surgery told the Metro: "To re-implant an amputated penis, all the complex structures in the penis have to be repaired.

In this case we successfully repaired the arteries which bring the blood to the organ, the veins which carry the blood away, the nerves which give sensibility to the organ, the urethra, the corpora which provides erection and the muscles.

"The patient can be back to normal life in four weeks."

Given that Mr Singh has had his genitals flushed down the toilet, his case might be a bit more severe than even Irshad's predicament.

We can only hope that they found it in time to attempt to reattach it.
