Woman Has Unusual Method Of Cooling Down Gin And Tonic

When the sun is shining, there is nothing better than sipping on a cool, refreshing alcoholic beverage. However, this simple pleasure is sometimes ruined when you go to the freezer and realise you don't have any ice. The struggle is real, my friends.

Well, one woman thinks she may just have the thing to save the day, should you find yourself in this position: peas.

Alanda, from Melbourne, Australia, took to Facebook recently to share her neat trick to make sure your G&T is always cold.

Rather than relying on ice cubes, the mum-of-two has taken to pouring a heap of frozen peas into a plastic bag, tying it up and placing it in her glass to cool things down.

Sharing a snap of the finished article, Alanda wrote: "When you really want a gin but don't want to wait for ice. Frozen peas in a sandwich bag it is then!"

Since she shared her post, Alanda has been praised by some for her out of the box thinking.

But she's not alone in the genius stakes. Others took the opportunity to share their own tricks of the trade, such as using frozen grapes or berries instead of peas.

Some also said that perhaps it's better to simply place the spirit you are using in the freezer to keep your drink chilled.

One person asked: "Have you tried frozen grapes? They don't water down your drink and are great to chuck in tthe freezer."

While another added: "Invest in frozen blueberries, it's a game changer."

It's not just at home where you get caught short in the ice stakes, though. Long journeys can be a nightmare, too.

Fortunately a TikToker recently shared a simple little hack to keep your drinks cool and away from the baking sun when you're out on the road: just throw them in the glovebox and whack on the air-con. Watch below:

According to Kyran, if you put the bottles/cans into the compartment, you will see a little vent that pumps out air according to the your heater's setting. So if you put on the AC, the contents of the glovebox will remain chilled.

Kyran's video, which has been watched over two million times, shows him saying: "Did anyone know about this? If you turn a fan on in a car and put on the air conditioning, inside the glovebox there's actually a vent. If you turn it it's blowing out cold air.

"As it's coming up to summer now and inside a car, the drinks gets boiling hot. You can literally store your drinks inside the glovebox like it's a fridge.

"Close it and it keeps them ice cold."

Mind blown.

So there you have it. No need to suffer a lukewarm bev ever again.
