Woman Tells Police She's Beyoncé Knowles After Being Arrested For Joyriding
Forty-eight-year-old Surena Henry, from Las Cruces in New Mexico is alleged to have given in the megastar's name when she was caught in a car that had been reported stolen.
According to court documents, the woman had refused to pull over for police at a traffic stop prompting officers to give chase.
The woman was eventually arrested when she drove home and hopped out the car. However, she refused to tell cops her real name and instead told them she was legendary pop star Beyoncé. It was worth a shot, eh?
Henry, who is 10 years older than the former Destiny's Child singer and looks absolutely nothing like her, was later identified after being booked and having her fingerprints taken at the Doña Ana County Detention Center.
Police say she already had a municipal bench warrant out on her for failing to appear to court for a previous, unrelated charge.
Henry told officers she found the car with the keys in the ignition and admitted to taking it away. Cops asked why she didn't pull over when requested and Henry responded by saying she 'didn't feel like pulling over'. Not sure that excuse is going to wash, mate.

While trying to pass yourself as one of the most famous women in the world isn't a very smart move, it still pales into comparison to a guy who attempted to give police a fake name all while having his real name tattooed across his neck.
Yup, bright spark Matthew Bushman, from Toronto in Canada, was arrested last year in relation to a forgery case cops were working on.
However, he allegedly gave police a fake name and date of birth, despite having 'Matty B' tattooed across his throat.
A post on the Mattoon Police Department Facebook page explained: "Mattoon Police arrested Matthew C Bushman, 36 years of age of Mansfield, IL, for the offence of Obstructing Justice. The arrest occurred on 10/11/2019 at 6pm at the Coles County Jail.
"The charge alleges that on 10/08/19 MPD was investigating a forgery involving Mr. Bushman, during which time Mr. Bushman provided police with a false name and date of birth to avoid arrest on an active Peoria Co warrant.
"Mr. Bushman was taken to the Coles County Jail."
