A woman has been spotted in a full PPE bodysuit, gloves and a mask while visiting Primark today as non-essential shops reopen for business in England.

The woman, who was spotted at the Birmingham branch, was seemingly not willing to take any risks while hoping to get her hands on a bargain.

As well as the bodysuit complete with a hood, gloves and a face mask, the woman had a shopping bag lashed over her shoulder and a bumbag around her waist so she wouldn't need to doff her PPE to get at her bank card. Clever, eh?

Masks are recommended but not mandatory when entering shops in England, and many shoppers erred on the side of caution and could be seen wearing face coverings while queuing to get in.

Today is the first day that non-essential shops in England, such as Primark, have been allowed to open their doors since 23 March.

All shops have been given strict guidance from the government 'detailing the measures they should take to meet the necessary social distancing and hygiene standards'.

Shoppers were waiting outside Primark stores up and down the country at 8am this morning, with huge queues photographed outside the Birmingham, Southampton and Liverpool branches.

The chain, which has reportedly lost around £1.5 billion due to lockdown, opened 153 of its UK stores today, with customers asked to follow two-metre social distancing guidelines.

Primark also announced it would be introducing extra security, perspex screens on tills and limitations on the number of customers allowed in at one time. Fitting rooms will be temporarily closed.

Speaking to The Mirror, Philippa Nibbs, Primark's director of sales, said: "We are incredibly excited about opening next week. The safety of our customers and employees is our number one priority and you'll see throughout the store the extensive measures we've put in place to support that."

Primark also changed its refund policy to reflect the store closures during lockdown with a spokesperson saying: "We have extended our Refund & Exchange policy in light of our temporary store closures and the impact Covid-19 may have on our customers.

"Products purchased on or after 1 February 2020 can be returned for 28 days after the date our stores in the country of purchase re-opens."
