Police are hunting man who was caught on CCTV stealing 'very big' dildo from sex store

The Love Heart Adult Shop says their ‘largest tester’ is gone and issued a big warning to the thief.

A man has been captured on CCTV footage stealing a very large dildo from a sex store in regional Queensland.

The Chronicle reported that the clip shows the kinky robber grabbing the toy and looking at it briefly before stuffing it into his pocket.

The man continues walking around the store, looking at the other products for sale, and then walks out.

Ash, the owner of Love Heart Adult Shop, soon found that their ‘largest tester’ was missing from the display.

“It’s a very big item to steal, I guess by the way he put it in his pocket … staff wouldn’t be looking there,” she told The Chronicle.

She said the AUD $200 (£114) price tag probably caused the thief to pocket it.

Ash revealed many people have touched the tester in between cleaning, so it wouldn’t be the ‘first’ item she’d steal.

Ash added that due to the economic climate; she had convinced first-time sex toy owners to come to look at her store.

“We’re not the only ones struggling, unfortunately with the cost of living rising, everyone is more careful with how they spend,” she said.

“It can be a little bit overwhelming for new customers, but that’s what we’re there for – to make you feel comfortable,” she added.

“If they have a concern and they don’t like talking about it, we are very familiar with a lot of (sensitive) things – we are here to help.”

Despite the unfortunate robbery, Ash is glad that the camera caught the thief from all ‘angles’.

Police are currently investigating the incident.

Back in 2018, two women were charged by Western Australian police for stealing AUD $600 (£330) worth of sex toys.

The two images of the women were shared on Libido Adult Super Store’s Facebook page.

Ah, there’s nothing like being added to the wall of shame.

The Daily Mail reported that the two women hid the high-end sex toys underneath their clothing as they walked out of the store around 12.10 am.

Garry Smith, the owner, told the outlet that theft is a ‘constant problem’ for the shop and he loses around AUD $2,500 (£1,432) of stolen sex toys every single month.

He said: “We have a lot of issues, because we are one of the few retailers on the street, we're open during night time to capture that passing trade.”
