Bernie Sanders Predicted The Election Results With Accuracy

Ever felt like you were clairvoyant? Well, US Senator Bernie Sanders accurately predicted what would happen during the Presidential election - including his feeling that incumbent POTUS Donald Trump would prematurely declare his victory before mail-in ballots were counted.

Pretty impressive.

The 79-year-old explained on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon how studies reveal that Democrats are more likely to use mail-in ballots, whereas Republicans are more likely to walk into polling booths to cast their vote.

He went on to say that current president Donald Trump would probably feel like he was winning because the first votes counted would be those coming in on election day (i.e. Republican/Trump supporters), and would thank Americans for voting him in once again.

He said: "It could well, I don't know what's going to happen, nobody does. But it could well be that at 10 o'clock on election night, Trump is winning in Michigan, he's winning in Pennsylvania, he's winning in Wisconsin, and he gets on the television and he says, 'Thank you, Americans, for reelecting me. It's all over. Have a good day.'"

Sanders added: "Then the next day and the day following, all of those mail-in ballots start getting counted and it turns out that Biden has won those states."

And it didn't stop there - the Vermont senator continued: "At which point Trump says. 'See, I told you the whole thing was fraudulent. I told you those mail-in ballots were crooked and we're not going to leave office.'

"So that is a worry that I and a lot of people have. People should be aware of that possibility."

And, just as predicted, on election night Trump did indeed address the public while he was up several points in those three states mentioned.

Then the following day (4 November), as mail-in ballots were being tallied, Joe Biden started taking the lead in various states and Trump began to claim fraud.

People have now taken to social media to praise Sanders' foresight, with one saying: "Thinking about this video of Bernie Sanders talking about mail-in votes."

Another added: "Bernie Sanders has magical powers of prediction."

Meanwhile a third wrote: "This is not a prediction. This is Bernie Sanders being a politician who knows his politics in and out.

"This is him touching on factors that could determine the election outcome. He is spot on!"
