North Korean leader Kim Jong-un doesn't really strike you as someone who'd really be up for a selfie, often seen only in official photographs while out on important business - leaving the self-facing camera shots to the Kardashians and the like.

But there have been a lot of changes in Kim's life over the past few months - most notably, there was the historic summit between North and South Korea back in April, which saw Kim become the first North Korean dictator to cross into the South for 65 years.

And after that groundbreaking moment, it seems we could expect many more, with Kim having now been seen grinning in a selfie with officials in Singapore.

Having arrived in Singapore for Tuesday's summit with US President Donald Trump, Kim went out to enjoy a spot of sight-seeing with Singaporean foreign minister Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister for Education Ong Ye Kung.

And by the looks of things they were having a grand old time, with Balakrishnan sharing a selfie of the group on Twitter - potentially the first time we've seen Kim pose for a public one, given that we've not really spotted any others doing the rounds.

The group had been walking around the FlowerDome at Gardens by the Bay on Monday night, Channel News Asia reports, and Kim was also spotted at the Marina Bay Sands - apparently heading up to the SkyPark - before also being seen at the Jubilee Bridge.

Kim is in Singapore to meet Donald Trump on Tuesday, when the two will come face-to-face for the first summit between a sitting United States President and the leader of North Korea. Their meeting will take place at the Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island.

Business Insider reports that, as host, Balakrishnan is playing a very active role in the summit.

Last week, he also visited North Korea after being invited by foreign minister Ri Hong Yo, saying that the visit went well and that the capital city of Pyongyang is 'clean, modern, and beautiful with clear evidence of ongoing construction around the city'.

He added: "There are many high-rise buildings and modern designs."
