These days he might not be as famous as Arnold Schwarzenegger, but Frank Zane is right up there in the pantheon of bodybuilding greats - and in a recent video the now 79-year-old shows he's still working out just as regularly as ever. Watch for yourself below:

A three-time Mr Olympia, Zane understandably looks a little different now to his late 1970s peak, but proved on his Instagram that his knowledge and dedication to staying in shape remains as strong as ever.

A recent clip features Zane performing one of his preferred bicep exercises; a variation on the incline curl, performed facing down on the incline bench.

"This puts tension on your biceps right at the top, so you let the dumbbells hang down, then you curl up, stop at the top, and go down slow," he explains in the video, while performing the move.

He adds: "You want to develop a rhythm when you're doing them; rhythm is what counts."

Zane goes on to say that the exercise is a great one for achieving peak contraction of the bicep, and advises doing sets of 10 reps, commenting that after just six curls he is starting to feel the strain.

And his fans are clearly impressed - with people amazed he's still doing his thing in his eighth decade.

"Mans 79 years old and still kickin," one user wrote.

Another added: "The man. The legend. Frank Zane".

A third said: "Way to keep Pumping Frank!! Inspiration for all to never stop!!"

It's not the only video Zane's put on his Instagram, and it's clear that he's still in great shape.

Back in the 1970's Zane revolutionised bodybuilding by moving away from focusing on mass - i.e being really, really big - to more definition.

Famously training with lighter weights at the beginning of his career, he did eventually switch up to heavier weights in order to win his three Mr. Olympia titles between 1977 and 1979.

Nevertheless he was known for this thin waistline and chiseled rather than large physique even when winning those titles.

He ultimately retired after the 1983 Mr Olympia and - alongside his many titles - holds the distinction of being one of just three men to beat Schwarzenegger in a bodybuilding competition as well as being one of the lightest Mr. Olympia winners in history.

Zane's achievements led to him being inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 1999 and he recently began filming a feature length film about his life with the film maker Alex Ardenti.
