Over the weekend, wresting legend Ric Flair was taken ill, with it widely believed that the hall of famer was placed into a medically induced coma.

Sadly, his fiancée has confirmed some of the worst news we could hope to receive on his condition with 'multiple organ problems' present.

It's a shock, considering the 69-year-old legend, at the start of the year, posted a video of himself on Twitter dead-lifting 400lbs, with the comment: "I. Will. Never. Retire."

Wendy Barlow, who has been engaged to 'The Nature Boy' since July 2016, wrote in a post on Facebook to explain the complications Flair was experiencing.

"Just want to give an update to my friends and family as I have been unable to talk on the phone without crying and just feel shocked over events," she wrote.

"I took Ric to the hospital Friday night with severe abdominal pain. From that moment on it all seems like a nightmare... multiple organ problems."

Barlow did not go to any more detail about what the 'problems' were, but the sentence alone is enough to describe the severity of the situation.

She continued: "I want everyone to know he still needs prayers as he is still in critical condition."

Barlow dispelled the rumours that Ric had undergone colon surgery and instead simply stated: "It was another surgery! I don't know how the media comes up with their stories."

She added: "I have been by his side since Friday and will continue to make sure he is getting the best care possible.

"Thanks for all the support and love."

Since hearing the news over the weekend, many of Ric's biggest fans have taken to social media in support of the former wrestler.

Ric, a father of four, has a wrestling legacy of over 40 years - including being 16-time world champion.

We wish you well, Ric.
