Mass Brawl Breaks Out After McGregor Vs Khabib At UFC 229

Khabib Nurmagomedov's teammates Zubaira Tukhugov and Islam Makhachev have been named as two of the men who attacked Conor McGregor following his defeat to the Russian.

The pair, who are UFC athletes, leaped over the railings and into the octagon, and were filmed landing blows on the former two-weight champion.

Footage taken by audience members shows three men race towards the Irishman after the contest was over. All three men were arrested but were released after McGregor decided not to press charges.

However, UFC boss Dana White has now come out and said neither Tukhugov nor Makhachev will ever fight in the UFC again.

In an interview following the fight, White said: "The guys who jumped in will never fight here again.

"I've been working hard to promote this sport, this is not what a mixed martial arts event is normally like."

Tukhugov, 27, who has fought four times in the UFC, was due to face McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov later this month, while Makhachev, also 27, has won all six of his fights.

It has not been confirmed whether these two men were arrested by police following the incident.

However, Khabib will not receive his $2 million (£1.5m) purse from the Nevada Athletic State Commission, after an investigation was launched into the aftermath.

The 30-year-old jumped over the railings after the end of the bout and made his way towards McGregor's corner.

There have been calls from fans on social media for the Russian fighter to be banned from the sport and to be fined for his actions. However, it is still unclear whether the result of the fight will stand and whether Khabib will be stripped of his title.

In the post-fight press conference he apologised for the ugly incident but criticised McGregor for his actions in the build up to the fight in Las Vegas.

He told assembled media: "I want to say sorry to the Athletic Commission, and sorry to Vegas; I know this is not my best side.

"But I don't understand how people can say I jumped on the cage. He [McGregor] talked about my religion, my family; he came to Brooklyn and could have killed people on the bus.

"Why are we talking about me climbing on the cage?"
