Some fans have said they feel 'scammed' after backstage footage emerged of Ben Askren following his defeat to Jake Paul.

The former UFC fighter was knocked out in the first round by the YouTube star, but in a clip being shared online he doesn't seem to be as dazed as you might have thought.

Askren, 36, reportedly made $500,000 (£361,441) from the bout, with Paul, 24, taking home $690,000 (£498,789), though it's not clear how much either of them will make from any bonuses, if anything.

And fans who paid to watch the fight last night have said they feel a little let down by the retired mixed martial artist for the quick knockout.

Writing on Twitter, one viewer said: "The face you make when you just scammed a bunch of people out of millions and can now build that new extension to the wrestling gym."

Echoing these sentiments, another wrote: "@BenAskren lookin completely fine to me."

"Jake Paul Vs Ben Askren was one scam match! MMA fighter who has taken 100s of punches with the smallest gloves possible gets knocked out by one right hand that didn't even connect properly from Jake!" claimed a third.

Not everyone felt this way, though, some were happy for Askren.

One viewer said: "You knew all along how it would play out. Good pay day. Well done!"

The long-awaited fight between Paul and Askren didn't last long at all, with Askren hitting the canvas in the first round.

And incredible ringside footage of the bout has been shared online showing the exact moment Paul's right hand connected with Akren.

In the clip, someone from the side can be heard saying, 'just touch', then, a second later, Paul throws a thunderous right.

Despite Askren's valiant attempt to get back to his feet and continue the fight, the ref calls an end to the match, with Paul running over to his corner and jumping on the ropes.

In his post-fight interview, Jake Paul said he was serious about boxing and wasn't sure what more he had to prove to his doubters.

He went on: "I've been in training camp every day, I deserved that s**t.

"This is the craziest moment of my life. I told y'all I was going to do it in the first round, I told y'all I'm a real fighter.

"I don't know how many times I've got to prove myself that this is for real."

Adding: "This is for Shadow, my security guard who passed away 10 days ago.

"He told me I would knock him out in the first round, he said he had a vision in a dream."
