Football Fan Carries 64 Beers To Stands During Match

A football fan was seen carrying 64 beers to the stands during a recent match in the Netherlands. Check out his heroic exploits here:

The anonymous bloke perhaps pre-empted that his side FC Twente would lose 2-1 to NEC Nijmegen at the De Grolsch Veste stadium on 24 October, and thus decided to well and truly stock up for some thorough sorrow-drowning.

Viral footage showed the fella carrying eight trays - each containing eight beers - stacked on top of each other, as his fellow supporters cheered him on.

I mean, that sort of behaviour deserves a standing ovation.

Surely that would have weighed an absolute tonne?

More to the point, surely that cost an absolute tonne. And surely the hero shared out the dozens of beers with their fellow fans.

If you're desperately searching for some kind of explanation for these wild antics, it seems most likely this was a case of one-upmanship.

That's because earlier last month, FC Twente fan Christiaan Roetgering went viral for carrying a stack of 48 beers at the De Grolsch Veste stadium.

The 23-year-old won the admiration of footie fans the world over but admitted one of his mates had carried more previously.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I must have had 300 friend requests on Instagram. I was watching the highlights on TV on Sunday, and my phone just exploded.

"I always go to the game with a group of friends, and each time one of us has the job of getting the beers in.

"This time it was my turn, and I didn't fancy having to keep going back and forth to the bar. So I decided to get everything in one visit.

"I had to carry the trays through a passageway and up some stairs, but it all went fine. But it's not a record - my friend Jochen has managed in the past to carry 50 beers in one go."

Wow, it really is inspirational stuff, but man these guys are ballsy.

One inadvertent barge from an unaware fan, one slip of a desperately straining finger - and it's heartbreak. Really expensive heartbreak.
