Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been charged with two additional counts of rape, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed.
The 27-year-old is now facing six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, and remains in custody.
The charges, which relate to four complainants over the age of 16, are alleged to have taken place between October 2020 and August 2021.

The CPS said in a statement that it had authorised Cheshire police to charge Mendy with two additional counts of rape.
It also authorised police to charge Louis Saha Matturie, 40, with two additional counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The two men will appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court tomorrow (17 November).

France international Mendy has played for Manchester City Football Club since 2017, having joined from Monaco for a reported £52 million.
He was suspended in August after being charged by police, pending 'an investigation'.
The club said in a statement at the time: "Manchester City can confirm that following his being charged by police today, Benjamin Mendy has been suspended pending an investigation.

"The matter is subject to a legal process and the Club is therefore unable to make further comment until that process is complete."
The last match Mendy played was against Tottenham on 15 August, when Manchester City lost 1-0.
He was refused bail for a third time last month and is currently on remand at HMP Altcourse, Liverpool.

According to the Manchester Evening News, at a previous hearing at the magistrates' court, Christopher Stables, representing Mendy, said that his client strenuously denies the allegations against him.
