Now, ABC News has reported that Sturridge has had his pooch returned.

According to reports, no arrests have been made and the footballer told cops he doesn't think the person who handed the dog back was connected to its disappearance.

In a video shared to Instagram, broken glass can be seen on the floor, as an emotional Sturridge says: "Somebody has broken into the house in LA and took my dog from the house.

"Listen, whoever knows who broke into my crib, I'll pay you anything.

"I'm dead serious. I wanna know who took my s***. I wanna know what's went on. I wanna know why they've took my dog!

"Something has gotta change, like how can you break into a house in LA and take someone's dog? You've come into a house to take a dog. Somebody please find my dog, I'll pay anything. I'm dead serious, I just want my dog back."

Offering big money for anyone who could help find his four-legged pal, he added: "£20,000 straight up. Twenty g's, thirty g's, whatever.

"Bring my dog back to this house, I'm moving out of this b**** anyway, I don't give a s*** about this place.

"Bring the dog back to this address, I'll be moving out tomorrow or the next day. I want my dog back and I'll pay whatever.

"You ain't going to get more than that anyway. And if you are let me know and I'll pay more than them. I'll pay more than them.

"Burglary happened in the last two hours apparently - three men stole my dog and four bags.

"Someone please return him. I'll pay anything."

He also shared CCTV footage of the alleged thieves.

Sturridge is yet to comment on the reported return of Lucci.
