Paul and the former NBA star were on the undercard for the Tyson v Roy Jones Jr fight.
Prior to his win, Paul scored two knockdowns.
Speaking after the fight, he said: "I talk a lot of s***, but I back it up."
When asked about his opponent, he added: "He was better than I expected, athletic, he was super strong. It takes a lot of balls to step into the ring.
"This means a lot to me. It feels good to win."
Paul now has his eyes firmly on former UFC star Conor McGregor, and reckons he's got what it takes to knock him out.

Speaking to BT Sport, Paul said: "I'm taking this seriously.
"There's a long list of opponents that I want. Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis, I'm going to knock them both out.
"There's my brother, there's KSI on the line, Austin McBroom. I want to be in this sport a long time. I'm in love with it, so why not."
Danis has already responded, telling the YouTuber to 'be careful what you wish for'.

Paul has said previously that when it comes from fighters making the switch from MMA to boxing, they got 'a lot they have to work on'.
"These MMA guys go to practice every day and have to spend their whole day on one thing - elbows, knees, grappling, take downs so there's a lot they have to work on," he said.
"But I've been going into the gym for the past three years and all I've been focusing on is boxing, so come over into my arena and you're going to get your a** beat."
As yet, McGregor has not responded to Paul.
