Jake Paul is set to fight UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, according to reports.

The Athletic's Mike Coppinger wrote on Twitter that sources claimed Paul and Woodley 'have agreed to a deal for a boxing match'.

Coppinger continued: "Jake recently signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime. Friday face-off in Miami planned to promote the event. Paul coming off first-round KO of Ben Askren."

Twenty-four-year-old Paul has a 3-0 professional boxing record, most recently securing a win against former UFC star Askren.

Woodley, 39, has a 19-7-1 record and won the UFC welterweight championship in 2016 - he successfully defended his title four times, before losing it in 2019.

Woodley called out Paul back in April, telling ESPN: "You had a lot to say in the locker room. Let's fight.

"I wanna hear what [Jake Paul] gotta say about it. You wanna fight me? He could fight me.

"I'll fight his friend in MMA, because I wanna elbow his ass. I don't want no little boxing, the poofy gloves.

"I wanna elbow, I wanna f***ing hit his face. I wanna almost break his arm and just let him out.

"So if his boy wants to fight me, he's gonna have to come and see me in the cage."

Meanwhile, Paul has been calling out just about anyone who has ever had a professional fight - including former double UFC champion Daniel Cormier and Conor McGregor.

Paul recently shared his thoughts on why he is so confident in his ability to knock out the Notorious.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "First and foremost I'm a better athlete than McGregor.

"He never played football, he never played lacrosse, he never wrestled, he was never an All-State football player.

"I'm taller by four inches or so and I'm about 60 pounds, 50 pounds heavier without a weight cut.

"And that's what a lot of people don't understand when I'm hitting these guys - I've got knockout power because I'm cutting down from 210lbs.

"The other side of this is him underestimating me.

"He's going to come into this, be chilling on his yachts, be babysitting his three little kids, be going out to dinners with his wife, playing in the beach in the sand, thinking Jake Paul's a walk in the park.

"When I'm going to be hustling every single day to beat this guy."
