John Fury has said his son Tommy will be 'retired from boxing' unless he knocks out the infamous YouTuber Jake Paul.

John said he'll 'walk away' if the 22-year-old boxer doesn't secure a comfortable win against Paul.

Speaking on the True Geordie podcast, John made it crystal clear that he won't be 'wasting his time' on Tommy if he doesn't knock out the YouTuber turned boxer.

In the interview, John immediately slaps down the idea it will be a 'close fight', saying: "No chance. If it's a close fight Tommy's retired."

He goes on: "If Tommy beats him and struggles to beat him, he's retired from boxing."

Asked why he feels so strongly, John explained: "He [Jake Paul] is a YouTuber. He's got to be knocking Jake Paul out. He's got to box him and knock him out, he's a YouTuber.

"And I'm not wasting my time on people in the gym because I haven't got a lot of time left at 56-years-old. So I'm not going to train with somebody I've got no faith in. So I've told him, 'unless you knock him out, pal, forget me with boxing.' I'll walk away."

However, John is very confident in his son's ability: "I see Tommy splattering Jake Paul all over the ring, within four to five rounds.

"If he doesn't, it's over for him! He knows that.

"No pressure Tommy lad, but let me tell you, you will be called Tommy Fumbles as well."

John also explained that Tommy needs to work on his 'energy' ahead of the proposed fight.

The eagerly anticipated fight between Paul and Tommy looks finally set to go ahead, according to promoter Frank Warren.

Tommy had previously knocked back Paul's $1million offer, but it's since been reported an unusual wager has been pledged with an additional $500,000 for Tommy should he win, but name change - to Tommy Fumbles - if he loses.

Warren told iFL TV: "At the moment we're working through the terms, we're quite close and I'm hoping we can get it over the line.

"It's a great fight for Tommy. It's a very lucrative fight for him. Financially, how can you turn that down?

"I think he wins it. It's captured everyone's imagination, it's all they were talking about out in the States.

"Hopefully, we will finish it off this week and we can move forward. It'll be in late November, December."
