Logan Paul landed only 28 punches during his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The YouTuber went the full eight rounds with one of the best boxers ever in Miami tonight, but didn't manage to inflict much damage at all.

Money, 44, is known for his trademark defence, with top class opponents like Oscar De La Hoya struggling to land much glove on him in the past.

And the same went for Paul, with the 26-year-old landing just 28 of the 217 punches (13 percent) her threw.

By comparison, Mayweather was able to land 43 of the 107, or 40 percent, that he attempted.

Nevertheless, the social media star was still able to stick in there until the final bell, which was about eight rounds further than most thought he would.

Following the bout, Mayweather praised Paul for being 'better than he thought', and that he 'had fun' tonight.

Logan said it was an 'honour' to step in the ring with the legend, saying 'happy I made it out'.

Much of Paul's success was down to him grappling with the former world champion - which many viewers picked up on.

One viewer joked: "I wish I had a gf that would hug me as much as Logan's been hugging Mayweather tonight."

Another quipped: "Logan Paul got more hugs in 8 rounds than I have this whole year."

"I just want someone to hug me like Logan Paul hugged Floyd Mayweather," said a third.

While another added: "I wished my father hugged my like Floyd and Logan hug each other."

The long-awaited fight went the distance.

Speaking ahead of their exhibition bout at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, Paul told reporters that he was ultra-confident of ending Money's incredible winning streak.

He said: "There's a moment that goes through every fighter's mind. Everyone we spar, everyone Jake's beat.

"When we hit them, they realise, 'Oh, he might not just do YouTube. This guy really put his heart and soul in this.'

"I hit hard. I think you're going to see Floyd's eyes light up, the first time I hit him."

KSI, real name Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, defeated Paul in their fight a couple of years ago.

And following the fight, some joked that tonight's result meant KSI was now technically the best boxer in the world.

In a tweet following the fight, KSI said: "So...You're saying I'm now the best boxer in the world?"
