A clip of a security guard's stony reaction to almost being kicked by Conor McGregor has impressed social media users.

McGregor was back in the Octagon last weekend for his third fight against Dustin Poirier.

But footage shot before the fight even started had got people talking on Twitter.

In the clip, McGregor can be seen bouncing about and warming up while waiting for Poirier to enter the cage and at one point can be seen kicking out towards a security guard who's stood inside.

However, despite coming mere centimetres away from a kick from the professional fighter, the guard doesn't move a muscle.

One person commented: "That security guard's aura must be made of steel."

A second person added: "Highest power level in the octagon."

Another joked: "I wouldn't flinch either. 'Cause if he hits me then I'm sending him a new outfit... A LAWSUIT."

The McGregor and Poirier trilogy fight ended in a loss for the Irishman after he broke his leg during the first round and the fight was stopped.

The former UFC champ has since undergone surgery on his leg but has already vowed to return to the sport once he's healed up.

On Twitter he said: "What's up fight fans, the Notorious here.

"Just out of the surgery room, everything went to plan, everything went perfect. I'm feeling tremendous.

"We got six weeks on a crutch now and then we begin to build back.

"I want to say thank you all the fans around the world for the messages of support, I hope you all enjoyed the show

"I want to thank all the fans in who came to the T-Mobile arena - 21,800 fans in attendance. The place was absolutely electric.

"It was a hell of a first round it would have been nice to get into that second round but it is what it is, that's the nature of the business, it was a clean break of the tibia and it was not to be.

"Dustin you can celebrate that illegitimate win all you want but you done nothing in there.

"That second round would have shown all and onwards and upwards we go team, we dust ourselves off, we build ourselves back and we come back better than ever. Let's go team."
