A Russian football chairman has quit after publishing photographs from a racy shoot with a sports presenter.

Rostislav Murzagulov, who is the former chairman of the board of directors of Russian Premier League club Ufa, was pictured cuddling up to Ulyana Trigubchak.

In the pictures, Trigubchak is topless or wearing lingerie. In one she's bent over what looks like a piece of furniture while Murzagulov leans on her back.

In another, she has her leg seductively draped (no judgement, girl power and all that jazz) across Murzagulov who is dressed in a suit.

In one of the snaps posted to her Instagram account, Murzagulov has his hand cupping her chest.

Speaking about his decision to post the pictures with Russian outlet Sport-Express, Murzagulov said he was ready for whatever consequences came.

He said: "I understand that in conservative Bashkiria [Bashkortostan, a republic of Russia] many will condemn me for this photo session.

"I'm almost certain that I'll cease to be the head of Ufa."

He continued to say: "However this is a smart decision. Now these fools who offer to give up football in Bashkiria will see how popular this sport is in our republic.

"If they are morons, let them understand that my photo session has such consequences...

"Let them find another manager who is photographed fully dressed."

After posting the shoot, the 43-year-old revealed he would be looking for 'new motivations' in a caption that accompanied a picture of him posing with balloons in the shape of a chain.

Unfortunately, we can't speak Russian but our pal Google Translate pulled through and let us know that part of the caption reads: "Looking for a job. Although no, it would be more correct to say - I am looking for new motivations for life.

"To command everyone is not motivation for me. I don't understand at all why one can command millions."

He added: "All right, to freedom with a clear conscience. Power and politics don't suit me," before concluding the post: "All peace, goodness, rock and roll."
