You Can Now Pause Your Sky Sports Subscription With The Click Of A Button

With the coronavirus pandemic causing sports events around the world to be called off and postponed, Sky Sports revealed that it would allow people to pause their subscriptions.

In a move that seemed only fair, seeing as there's not really going to be a lot to watch over the coming months, the service initially required customers to call them to cancel.

In fact - thankfully, the service has changed the rules, meaning that it can be done online.

Quite simply, follow the steps below:

1. Go to: https://www.sky.com/pausesports
2. Log in to your Sky account.
3. Follow the instructions to pause Sky Sports.
4. Wait for all this to blow over - your account will automatically restart when Sky starts showing live sport on telly.

And, as an extra, Sky will carry on broadcasting all 11 Sky Sports channels after you suspend your subscriptions, as long as you agree to renew payments when live sport FINALLY returns.

Not too shabby, really.

In an update, the service said: "In such challenging times, we are working hard to keep you connected to what matters, when it matters most.

"Our first priority is ensuring our customers continue to get the very best service we can provide. We'd love more people to experience Sky, but for the time being we're focusing our attention and resources on making sure we do our very best for our existing customers. Whether this is prioritising the calls coming into our call centres, improving our online service, or sending our engineers on visits to your home to keep your services up and running.

"With us all likely to be spending more time at home in the coming months, we're also doing a few extra things to make your Sky TV experience even better.

"Whilst we expect that many of the recently postponed sports events will go ahead, if you wish to pause your Sky Sports subscription in the meantime you will not be charged a fee to do so or be held to any notice period. Meanwhile we continue to provide high quality content across all of our 11 Sky Sports channels."

With the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Premier League and UEFA Euro 2020 all postponed, it looks like we'll be having a pretty sport free summer, but all should be back to normal by next year at the very latest.

Until then, let's all continue to follow social distancing rules, stay at home where possible and, for the love of god, wash your hands.
