He's normally a shy and retiring type, but MMA fighter Conor McGregor has being showing off his new toy - a Lamborghini yacht.

The 33 year old UFC legend posted a picture on Instagram of the vast 63ft liner on Tuesday at its construction site in Italy. The vessel, which is priced at £2.6 million, has been designed and built by the Italian Sea Group and Tecnomar for Lamborghini and can reach a top speed of around 69mph (60 knots).

The yacht is clearly influenced by the iconic car, boasting an angular and futuristic design with Y-shaped headlamps, a dashboard that calls back to Lamborghini's mid-engine hybrid sports car and, of course, the famous Lambo logo.

The influence stretches to the yacht's exterior too, with the inspiration of the famous Lamborghini Miura and Countach there for all to see. The yacht also has a private bedroom space in its lower quarters.

A delighted McGregor, who was pictured picking out swatches for the yacht last October, captioned it the 'Supercar of the Sea' and said he was 'honoured' to secure the 12th of just 63 yachts that are being made.

"Thank you Giuseppe Constantino and the entire team at 'The Italian Sea Group' for your amazing work!" he continued on Instagram.

McGregor was spotted earlier this week for the first time since he fractured his tibia in his opening round defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 last weekend.

Following the fight, UFC President Dana White said he had doubts over whether McGregor will be able to compete at all in the next twelve months.

"He'll be in Los Angeles for a little while," Dana told TMZ Sports. "I don't know if he's going to fly home or what he's going to do. He'll be back in a year."

McGregor was much more optimistic when talking about his future and fortunes, taking to social media to say he felt 'tremendous' after his surgery and that the second round against Poirier 'would have shown all.'

With his brand new vessel ready to take to sea, McGregor is set to recover in calmer waters for a while.
