How far can smartphones go? Or rather, how far are they willing to go? Of recent late, Apple in particular only seem to be arsed with update after update while they figure out how one-up a seemingly overcooked piece of technology.
There's a few things they can't do, which for whatever reason companies aren't choosing to address, like being able to walk your dog, or get a round in, or end gun crime in America. For the moment, they're keeping things simple.
I'm talking about the recent release of a patent for a bendable plastic LED screen.

Why would we want a bendy iPhone? I'd assume, off the bat, for the same reason we owned bendy rulers in year 7: they're fun to play around with. But there are also some practical reason on top of them being a good distraction during boring bus rides or dental appointments. Mainly, a bendy, rubber, phone could take much more abuse than the current crop in our trouser pockets.
