Toddler bites and kills snake after it bit her

Toddler bites and kills snake after it bit her

A two-year-old toddler bit a snake to death after it bit her first.

It's often said when a child hits the 'terrible twos' they can become much more of a handful to deal with, so spare a thought for the parents of one girl who killed a snake with her bare teeth.

Yes, you read that right - a two-year-old in Bingol, Turkey managed to kill a snake with her very own teeth after it bit her while she was playing in the garden of her family home.

Playing with the snake in the garden before being bit on the lip by it on 10 August, the toddler - identified only by her initials S.E - went for the retaliation option of biting and killing the snake right back using her teeth.

Neighbours were reportedly horrified when they found the girl with a 20-inch snake bitten to death and clamped between her teeth.

The toddler was found with the snake clamped in her mouth after it had bitten her.

Horror is an understandable reaction if a toddler bites and kills an animal, regardless of whether it bit them first, as who knows what they'll do next.

Mehmet Ercan, the girl's father, was at work when his daughter was bitten by the snake before biting it back in retaliation.

He said: "Allah has protected her, really. Our neighbours have told me that the snake was in the hand of my child, she was playing with it and then it bit her.

"Then she has bitten the snake back as a reaction."

The girl received first aid treatment from neighbours for the snake bite on her lip before being taken to Bingol Maternity and Children's Hospital for further treatment. The snake was unfortunately beyond saving.

Let's just hope for the sake of snakes everywhere that in the future they stay out of the little girl's garden and far away from her teeth.

We're pretty sure being bitten to death by a toddler was the last thing the snake expected.

Then again, maybe snakes will get a bit of an upgrade as one enterprising inventor has created a set of robotic legs to allow snakes to walk around again.

I don't know about you but that seems like a bad idea to me, surely we can do without giving snakes robot bodies to help them more easily get around.

Meanwhile, other snake bite encounters help highlight how lucky the girl was that she didn't come across a more vicious and venomous type of snake to bite her on the lip.

Recently in India, a 22-year-old man was killed by a snake bite just days after attending the funeral of his 38-year-old brother who had also been killed by a snake.
