Travis Scott has spoken for the first time since the Astroworld tragedy which left 10 people dead.
Ten people died and many more were left injured after a crowd crush during Scott’s set at the festival.
Now the rapper has sat down with Charlamagne Tha God for his YouTube channel and spoke about the tragedy for the first time, insisting he didn’t know how bad things were in the crowd.
He also said he felt he had a responsibility to get to the bottom of what happened.

Scott said he was told via his ‘in ear’ to end the show after Drake had been on, but says he wasn’t told how bad things were until after.
He said: “I didn’t know the exact details until minutes before the press conference [after my set].
“And even at that moment you’re like, ‘Wait, what?’
“People pass out, things happen at concerts, but something like that…”

He also denied hearing sounds of concern or distress from the crowd, saying he would have stopped had he been aware that things were going so badly wrong.
“It’s so crazy because I’m that artist too - anytime you can hear something like that, you want to stop the show.
“You want to make sure fans get the proper attention they need. Anytime I could see anything like that, I did. I stopped it a couple times to just make sure everybody was OK. And I really just go off the fans’ energy as a collective - call and response. I just didn’t hear that.”

He added: “You can only help what you can see and whatever you’re told, whenever they tell you to stop, you stop.”
During the almost-hour-long interview, Scott can be seen to get emotional. He talks about the victim’s families and vowed to ‘fix’ the problem and ensure nothing like this happens again.
He said: “They lost their loved ones, I just always wanna be there for them. I’m going to fix this problem and make sure this doesn’t happen in the future and be the number one voice for this. We got to figure it out.”

At the end of the interview, Charlamagne asks Scott if he thinks he’ll every forgive himself for the tragedy, to which he replied: "It’s tough, my intentions weren’t to hurt or harm their families, I wanted them to have a good experience, when my fans came to see me its a connection.”
