Has there ever in the history of our country been a year we needed a good belly laugh more than this year? Well, probably last year to be fair but let's not dwell on the past.

If it's a laugh you're on the prowl for, look no further than 'Laughs At The Manor' at Palmers Townhouse Estate, a new comedy festival that's taking place this Friday as part of the ongoing At The Manor event series.

It may be held on Friday the 13th but this event promises more giggles than frights as it boasts a stellar line-up of homegrown Irish comedians.

Taking to the stage this Friday is Republic of Telly star and one time Dancing With The Stars hopeful Fred Cooke, impressionist Al Foran and the hilarious Aideen McQueen.

Also set to deliver a barrel of laughs are former Fair City star Eric Lalor, Limerick comedian Karl Spain and rounding off the line-up is Ailish McCarthy.

This weekend's event follows the success of the first Laughs At The Manor which took place last Friday (August 6th) and featured performances from Enya Martin (aka Giz A Laugh), Emma Doran, Pat McDonnell (aka Eoin McLove), Paul Marsh, Julie Jay and Lorcan Hughes.

The comedy series is part of the summer long At The Manor festival held at Palmers Townhouse Estate which was first announced back May. The socially distanced, outdoor festival was pitched to be a new summer series 'celebrating the return of live music, sumptuous cuisine, arts and comedy to Ireland.'

If you fancy a laugh this weekend, there are still tickets available for Laughs At The Manor here. Tickets are sold in four-person pods from €120.00
