To the uninitiated, Twitter can be a bit of mine field. It's where memes and news stories are often born and, in many ways, it's a language in and of itself. And then, of course, you've got the specific subculture that is Irish Twitter which is a whole other ball game.

We here at LADBible understand that it can be overwhelming trying to stay on top of a platform that feels like if you blink, you'll miss something crucial. That's why we've put together this nifty guide to the best of what's occurred on Irish Twitter this week - the funniest memes, the hottest takes and the moments that just made us say WT actual F.

So grab a cuppa, sit back and catch up on all the best tweets you might have missed this week, safe in the knowledge you can regurgitate them all to your friends as though they're your original thoughts in the coming week.

Some wounds never heal as evidenced here by Andrea Cleary.

Leo Varadkar continues to be the eternal butt of every joke on Twitter these days - he really doesn't help himself though does he?

Not this girl getting mansplained over her Transformers knowledge of all things.

TBH - The tweets that made us go 'Hmm...'

The Irish Daily Mail recently published this utterly bizarre column by Niamh Walsh in which the columnist takes swipes at various female politicians because of their, in her opinion, lacklustre sense of style. As you can imagine, it didn't go down well with either the politicians nor the general public.

It's a baffling read that sounds like it was lifted from an issue decades old, and it's hard to know what Walsh thought she might reasonably be achieving with it. It has left a sour taste in most people's mouths but then the piece does begin with Walsh preempting criticism for her words by declaring 'I. DON'T. CARE.'

WTF - An ode to the tweet we just didn't see coming

To finish things off on a slightly more positive note with this heartwarming story shared by Twitter user Christine Wilson about her grieving mother on a particularly tough day in the airport.
