Do you have lofty ambitions to be the next iconic reality TV star to spark joy from behind people's television screens? Or do you perhaps just want to find love, or maybe need your house doing up?
Well, you could be in luck as Netflix has recently launched what it is calling the "largest reality casting call" of all time through a new online portal which requires applicants to simply submit a video of themselves explaining why they want to be on their chosen show.
Don't worry if you're no maestro on iMovie as they've made a point of explaining it can be a lo-fi affair, noting 'no ring light needed' as the emphasis is on seeing the 'real you'.
"Netflix Reality wants to see the real you...in one minute or less. To be considered, submit a video being your fabulous self... Only catch? No catfish! We want you to show up as your authentic self and be the real you."
"No ring light, no glam. Just. Be. You." It's pretty hard to convey the entirety of the real you in less than sixty seconds so we'd recommend working on a script before pressing record.
You will be beginning with one distinct advantage however - only residents of the US, Canada, UK or Ireland are eligible to apply. That's already increased your chance of landing on your favourite show significantly.
If you need a reminder of the shows you could find yourself participating in, it's quite a wide selection as the streaming service has hugely upped its reality TV output in recent years. Fan favourites include The Circle, Love Is Blind, Too Hot To Handle, Nailed It! and Queer Eye.
For something a little more niche you've also got Home Makeover, Floor is Lava, Roaring Twenties, Get Organised with the Home Edit, Sparking Joy with Marie Condo and The American Barbecue Showdown.
