The truck driver jailed for 110 years in prison was given a drastic reduction in his prison sentence by a judge in Colorado on Thursday (30 December).
Rogel Aguilera-Mederos, 26, was jailed after his truck brakes failed, resulting in a crash that killed four people.
He was recently convicted of 27 charges in relation to the crash, including vehicular homicide on 13 December.

The controversial sentencing sparked public outcry and a petition seeking clemency for the 26-year-old pulled in around five million signatures.
And now, Aguilera-Mederos has now had his jail term reduced by Governor Jared Polis to 10 years.
Even Kim Kardashian issued her support behind the huge petition.

The reality star said the case of Rogel Aguilera-Mederos was a 'clear example' of why mandatory minimum sentences should be abolished.
“Thank you to @govofco for taking action to reduce Mr Aguilera-Mederos sentence!” Kardashian wrote on her Instagram story.
“While his new sentence is ten years, he will now have an opportunity to come home in five years and be with his son and wife.
“This case was a clear example of why mandatory minimums don’t work and need to be abolished.

“I’m grateful to Governor Polis for his empathy and leadership on this case.”
The Governor of Colorado responded to the motion filed on 21 December, which read: “As Colorado law required the imposition of the sentence in this case, the law also permits the Court to reconsider its sentence in an exceptional case involving unusual and extenuating circumstances.
“This would allow for the conditions to be met for a modification of the defendant's sentence as was discussed by the People in the initial sentencing hearing.”
The crash killed Miguel Angel Lamas Arellano, 24; Doyle Harrison, 61; Stanley Politano, 69; and William Bailey, 67.

Aguilera-Mederos said the brakes of his 18-wheeler truck malfunctioned and claimed he tried to avoid traffic.
District Attorney Alexis King said: “The purpose for the People's expedited request is so that the named victims in the case, as well as their families, have an opportunity to be heard by the trial court who is fully aware of the facts of the case.
“We have spoken to the living victims and the families of the deceased victims, and it is their specific desire to be heard on this modification, in this forum, as quickly as possible.”
