Chris Hemsworth's personal trainer has banned 'millennials, gym junkies and fitness posers' from his new gym.

Jonathan Freeman has worked with the Hollywood star for a long time, helping him get into shape for some of his biggest - quite literally - roles.

But even Hemsworth, 38, wouldn't be allowed to step foot in his new Club Active centre, which has a strict 'no millennials' policy.

Speaking to the Courier Mail, Freeman said: "If you were born after 1970, we're not the gym for you."

Despite the ban, though, Hemsworth hasn't been slacking in his fitness regime, as he looks to get ripped for his upcoming film, Extraction 2.

Taking to Instagram earlier this year, he gave his fans a peek at his intense workout routine.

Sharing a video to his account, he wrote: "Gearing up for @netflix Extraction sequel. Transitioning from heavyweight training to a lot more bodyweight functional movements concentrating on agility, strength and speed.

"Give this little work out a go and let the lungs scream for mercy!"

He then listed the exercises which include:

  • 3 minute boxing round (cardio)
  • 50 squats (lower body)
  • 40 sit thrus (mobility)
  • 20 reps for each (core)exercise
  • 25 push ups (upper body)
  • Rest 2 minutes 4 sets in total

Just reading that lot has made me feel a bit sick.

Hemsworth has been working hard to get in shape for his new film, Extraction 2.

Due to the global pandemic, production on the new movie has stalled over the past year or so.

But speaking on panel at Brazilian comic convention CCXP back min 2020, writer Joe Russo said the plan was for filming to start this autumn.

He said: "The intention is to start rolling cameras on Extraction 2 sometime next fall.

"Chris [Hemsworth] is a busy guy so we have to figure out his schedule, but that's the intent at the moment."

Not giving away too much in terms of the plot for the sequel, Joe went on: "I'm still not gonna commit because I think it's more exciting to surprise people.

"But I will say this: we are working at building out a universe of films that could potentially explore some of the other characters from the first movie and some new characters, and see more historical interaction between the characters.

"So if you're interested in David Harbour's character, you just may get to see him in a future Extraction movie."

Extraction is currently available to stream on Netflix.
