"As one of my friends that has MS said 'we wake up and take the indicated action'. And that's what I do.
"So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo."
MS is a condition that affects the central nervous system, causing symptoms such as fatigue, tremors, slurred speech, loss of vision and weakness in limbs.
In the UK, around 7,000 people are diagnosed with MS every year, with 130,000 people living with the condition.
Around 2.3 million people have been diagnosed with it worldwide.
Founding member and ex-drummer for Slipknot Joey Jordison, who sadly died last month, also suffered from a form of MS.
Jordison left the band in 2013 for 'personal reasons' and later confirmed it was because of a neurological disease.
Opening up to the crowd at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2016, Jordison said: "I got really, really sick with a horrible disease called transverse myelitis, I lost my legs.
"I couldn't play anymore. It was a form of multiple sclerosis, which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I got myself back up, and I got myself in the gym and I got myself back in f**king therapy, to f**king beat this s**t."
A representative for the 46-year-old's family issued a statement (via Rolling Stone), explaining that the talented musician has passed away.
It read: "Joey's death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow.
"To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart, and his love for all things family and music.
"The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans, and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time."
