Friends fans are not happy that James Corden is hosting the reunion special.

The long-awaited show is set to air later this month, and will see the cast of the 90s sitcom back together again for a good old chinwag about the show.

However, while fans couldn't be more excited about the prospect of seeing Joey, Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Monica and Phoebe in the apartment again, it seems they are less keen on a certain Brit being part of it all.

Sharing their dismay on Twitter, one person said: "The Friends reunion is not a musical. Yet James Corden's in it. Why? And when will this man be stopped?"

Another chimed in: "How did James Corden worm his way into the Friends reunion, does America know that he doesn't have to be in everything?"

A third wrote: "I'm sorry if this isn't brand new information but WHY IN THE FRESH HELL IS JAMES CORDEN HOSTING PART OF THE FRIENDS REUNION???"

While another added: "James Corden bout to ruin Friends for everyone."

Seems a bit harsh, but if that's how they feel.

Corden made his name on BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey, and has proven incredibly popular since he moved across the pond and began hosting The Late Late Show.

However, it seems he may not be everyone's cup of tea - much like anyone on TV really. I guess you can't please everyone.

The trailer for the special landed earlier today, showing the gang back at Monica's flat and reminiscing about the good old days.

The one-off reunion show will see stars Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) sit down for an unscripted show to celebrate the comedy that ended way back in 2004.

But that's not all. They will be joined by some A-list fans of the show, including David Beckham, Justin Bieber, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon and Christina Pickles - as well as former guest stars such as Reese Witherspoon, Tom Selleck and Elliot Gould.

Oh, and James Corden. Obviously.

It was recently announced that the special would be airing on 27 May on HBO Max.
