The story isn't over yet for Joe Exotic, and now it looks as though Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness will be getting a new episode next week.

Jeff Lowe, the new owner of the zoo, announced the news in a video, which was then tweeted out by Justin Turner - baseball player for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Justin and Jeff came to know each other when the baseball star spoke about the hit docuseries on his wife Kourtney Turner's podcast.

In the video, Jeff says: "Hey Kourtney and Justin, this is Jeff and Lauren from the Tiger King show on Netflix. Thanks for watching our show.

"Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. We're filming here tomorrow."

Lowe then ends the video with a bit of health advice amid the coronavirus pandemic, telling the Turners: "Stay safe, and put your mask on."

The true crime series has been an absolute hit since it dropped on Netflix in March, and its incredibly bizarre story has meant that it's dominated much of the chat online .

If you haven't watched it or heard about it then seriously, where have you been?

The show is about Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka 'Joe Exotic' - the owner of a roadside zoo in Oklahoma. He is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence for being caught trying to pay someone to kill his rival - animal rights activist Carole Baskin.

It just so happened that the person he tried to pay in the murder-for-hire plot turned out to be an undercover FBI agent.

If that doesn't sound weird enough, the show picks up drastically from there.

Jeff Lowe ended up taking over the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park after ex-business partner Joe was arrested.

Since he got sent to prison in April last year, Joe has launched a $94 million lawsuit against the US government.

Following the show's release, law enforcement officers in Florida have also launched another investigation into the disappearance of Baskin's second husband Jack 'Don' Lewis in 1997. Joe Exotic has consistently accused Baskin of 'feeding [Lewis] to the tigers', although she has always denied any involvement and was also never a suspect or even a person of interest, according to police.
