If you're struggling to think of things to keep yourself entertained this bank holiday, we might have just the thing for you. John Wick is being streamed for free.

Whether you are one of the very few people who hasn't seen Keanu Reeves' greatest ever movie or you are have enjoyed it countless times, this is the pick-me-up we all need.

Lionsgate, the studio behind the action series, will be airing the film on YouTube at 2am (GMT) on Sunday 9 May.

So what's it all about?

Basically, when a gang of thugs murder a retired assassin's (Wick's) pet pooch - which his dead wife bought him from beyond the grave - he goes on a 90-minute rampage and kills everything in sight.

It's incredible. You will love it.

Don't mess with John Wick's dog.

The screening forms the finale of the studio's 'A Night At The Movies' series, which sees Jamie Lee Curtis host screenings of four classic films.

So far, fans have enjoyed The Hunger Games, Dirty Dancing and La La Land.

Speaking about the project, Joe Drake, chairman, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said it was a way of bringing the country together during the coronavirus pandemic.

He said: "There's nothing that will replace the magic of seeing a movie together with your fellow moviegoers in a theater on a big screen, but this is a chance for America to come together to recreate the experience.

"This is a great chance to show the country's theatrical employees how much we miss going to their theaters and how much we support them.

"Jamie Lee Curtis - a woman who literally grew up with the movies and movie theaters - is one of the world's biggest movie fans, so it's a real thrill that she'll be our host for this event.

"Let's have some fun watching some classic movies together at home while celebrating moviegoing!"

The ongoing pandemic has also brought a halt to another of Reeves' projects, Matrix 4, which was due to come out on the same weekend (21 May 2021) as the fourth instalment of the John Wick saga.

However, with studios being forced to close during the crisis, release dates have had to be reassessed.
