Luca Guadagnino is set to take the director's seat on the reboot of classic gangster flick Scarface.
The project has been rumoured for some time, but with the Call Me By Your Name director now reportedly attached to it it looks as though some progress is being made.
According to reports by Deadline, the new movie will be set in Los Angeles, rather than Miami, and will be based on a script written by the Coen Brothers, Joel and Ethan, who have been working on the film for several years.

However, proposals for a reimagining of Al Pacino's 1983 version have been in the pipeline for a good few years now, with Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, Jonathan Herman and Paul Attanasio having written previous draft scripts.
In terms of the cast, no one has been nailed down to take on the lead role, though the likes of Michael B. Jordan, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver and even Tom Hardy have been mentioned on fans' wishlists for the new movie.
However, despite plenty of excitement surrounding the movie, many fans of the original have come out and claimed that a remake - or a reboot - is just not needed.
