Megan Fox has called out critics of her four-year age gap with partner Machine Gun Kelly.

The actor, 35, has been dating the 31-year-old rapper, real name Colson Baker, for some time, and Fox is sick of people acting like it's a huge deal.

Speaking to InStyle, she said the haters can 'go f***' themselves' if they think she cares.

She said: "You want to talk about patriarchy?"

"The fact that he's four years younger than me, and people want to act like I'm dating a younger man. He's 31, and I'm 35.

"Granted, he's lived like he's 19 his whole life, but he isn't 19."

Adding: "No one would blink twice if George Clooney was dating someone four years younger," she noted.

"Four years? Go f*** yourself."

During the interview, Fox also looked back at the media attention she has received over the course of her career.

She added: "I was brought out and stoned and murdered at one point.

"And then suddenly everybody's like, 'Wait a second. We shouldn't have done that. Let's bring her back'."

In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Fox said the scrutiny led her down a 'very dark' road.

She told the publication: "That was a microcosm of my whole life and whole interaction with Hollywood. It was just very dark.

"I was so lost and trying to understand, like, how am I supposed to feel value or find purpose in this horrendous, patriarchal, misogynistic hell that was Hollywood at the time.

"Because I had already been speaking out against it and everyone, including other women, received me in a very negative way for doing it."

She went on to explain how the beginning of her career saw her typecast as the stuck-up popular girl alongside the likes of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan and Kaley Cuoco, where all her characters were 'essentially the exact same' with her lines being 'interchangeable'.

This, she said, seemed to give people the illusion that she'd been playing herself. She said: "I think there has been a pervasive perception of me as a shallow succubus, if that makes any sense, for at least the first decade of my career.

"And then that started to change more recently as people revisited some of my interviews, listened to me speak and started to see me in a different way."
