No Time To Die Release Date Pushed Back To April 2021

The release date for the new James Bond movie has been pushed back again.

No Time To Die is the 25th film in the iconic series and was due to hit cinemas next month, but it has now been announced that this won't be the case.

The news was confirmed by the official James Bond Twitter account, which stated the decision had been taken to ensure a worldwide cinematic release.

It read: "MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, today announced the release of NO TIME TO DIE, the 25th film in the James Bond series, will be delayed until 2 April 2021 in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience."

As well as being Daniel Craig's fifth and final portrayal of 007, the film will also see Rami Malek in the role of villain Safin. Other additions to the long-running franchise include Knives Out star Ana de Armas and Captain Marvel's Lashana Lynch.

We'll also be seeing some familiar characters alongside Bond, such as Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter and Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

The film's synopsis says: "James Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help.

"The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology."

It was originally planned to hit screens in April this year, but due to the coronavirus pandemic and cinemas being closed during lockdown, it was delayed.

Universal

At the time, the studio said: "MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of NO TIME TO DIE will be postponed until November 2020.

"The film will be released in the U.K. on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the US launch on November 25, 2020."

Sadly, however, the latest announcement means fans will have a little while longer to wait until they get to see Craig's final performance as the iconic spy.
