The actor posted a clip to his Instagram account of him diving into his swimming pool and, naturally, he had his top off.
The short video was posted with the caption: "Last swim before the pool goes into hibernation... (It was freezing)... Wonder what it's like to be tan."
But while many were just happy to see his ripped physique, others were shocked to find out that his torso is dotted with ink.
Taking to Twitter, one excited fan said: "The duality of chris evans amazes me?? like he is the softest cutest man ever but also a complete badass who can backflip, has washboard abs, a v-line, and a s*** ton of cool chest tattoos.. mkay."
I feel like my whole life is lie. How did Chris Evans get like 400 new tattoos and we didn't know. This don't sit right with me. pic.twitter.com/RMufSHSauA

was anyone going to tell me that Chris Evans has that many tattoos or was I just supposed to find out from that video of him doing a backflip

But then Chris Evans posted a video of himself shirtless with all his tattoos out in the world and suddenly, the exhaustion has briefly vanished and my mental health is back to at least 60%.

A second cried: "CHRIS EVANS REVEALED HIS NEW TATTOOS IM SCREAMING!"
A third wrote: "DID YALL SEE CHRIS EVANS' TATTOOS???? LORD HAVE MERCY IM ABOUT TO BUST."
But this isn't the only snap of Captain America that has got fans talking.
Evans, 39, shared a screen recording of himself playing Heads Up with his family, but at the end of the clip people caught a quick glimpse of a camera roll - with one picture being of a man's genitals, along with another of Evans' face accompanied by text that said 'Guard that p***y'.
The post was deleted shortly after, but many fans had been able to screenshot it before it disappeared and began posting the images online.
Evans later admitted on The Tamron Hall Show: "It was an interesting weekend full of lessons, a lot of teachable moments. It's embarrassing, but you gotta roll with the punches."
