Will Smith has revealed that he once 'considered suicide' in his upcoming docuseries, The Best Shape Of My Life. Check out the clip below:

The actor recently put himself through a rigorous fitness regime to help him get back into shape after letting himself go a bit over the past year and will soon be releasing his very own YouTube Originals docuseries to document this time of his life.

But much more than just his physical health, The Best Shape Of My Life will delve deep into the 53-year-old's personal life and his struggles with his mental well-being.

During the recently released trailer for the six-part series, Smith is seen sitting at the head of a table and talking to his family, when he says: "That was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide."

However, it is not clear what specific moment he is talking about.

The trailer then ends with Smith reading out a particularly emotional excerpt from his new book.

Tearing up, he says: "What you've come to understand as Will Smith, the alien-annihilating MC, bigger-than-life movie star, is largely a construction, a carefully crafted and honed character designed to protect myself, to hide myself from the world.

"To hide the coward."

These revelations come as the Men in Black actor looked to lose 20lbs in 20 weeks after having put on a few pounds during the pandemic.

And despite him telling the crew that he wanted to give up and that he was 'done' with the idea, the dad-of-three managed to pick himself up and push through the pain, and recently gave his fans an update as to how he was doing.

Smith shared a video of himself being screamed at down the phone to get the f***k up because 'Sundays aren't an excuse to rest'.

The guy at the beginning of the clip asks the camera: "Are you in your bed right now?" Guilty. As. Charged.

He goes on to pull his face mask down and shout-mime: "GET THE F**K UP."

The camera then turns to Smith, who seems to engage with the tough motivation despite looking pretty comfortable in bed.

He pulls the crisp white covers off him and jumps out before multiple clips play of him training in and out of the gym.

The video was captioned: "And to think Sundays used to be for muffins," before hashtagging 'best shape of my life', in reference to the new YouTube series.

Commenting on the post, one fan wrote: "Will getting that I Am Legend body back!"

While another wrote: "Stay fit man we all need you, we've lost a lot. A LOT of greats this past few years.
