Remember the elderly man who was left with a broken collarbone when he was mugged last year?

Alan Barnes was putting his bins out in Low Fell, Gateshead, when he was attacked and the incident sparked a national outpouring of generosity.

Katie Cutler set up an online fundraising page on the Go Fund Me website and helped the 68-year-old raise £330,000.

However, the good Samaritan is now being threatened with bailiffs after being landed with a £6,687 PR bill.

You would probably think now would be a good time for Alan to step in and repay the kindness Katie showed him, wouldn't you? But the pensioner has reportedly offered her just a tenner.

According to reports, he's only pledged a small amount to her cause because he didn't want to 'show off'. Bloody 'ell, Alan. There's not showing off and then there's being a stingy bastard.

He told Mirror Online: "It's easy for people to say, 'he's got a lot of money, cough up' but you've got to look into all the alternatives.

"It might seem hard but if I start handing it out, other people might ask for money. It was given to me on the understanding that I use it for myself.

"A lot of people just want it to stay with me."

Maybe I was a bit harsh. What do you reckon?
