Big Baps Cafe Owner Says Business Is Being Blighted By 'Seedy' Doggers

The owner of Big Baps cafe has claimed her business is being blighted by rampant dogging.

The roadside cafe is located at Junction 25 in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, and co-owner Sharon Wherrett has grown accustomed to seeing two or three doggers every morning as she serves lorry drivers their breakfast.

For the uninitiated, dogging is where a group of people gather in a public place and engage in exhibitionist group sex.

"If you came and had breakfast at our cafe you'd see two or three doggers, guaranteed," Sharon told YorkshireLive.

Two or three doggers with your breakfast, or your money back - guaranteed.

Sharon said the layby has become a popular dogging spot.

It's no laughing matter for Sharon though, who claims groups of male doggers have trashed the wooded area behind her food outlet, where there is a mattress and other dirty remnants.

The 51-year-old said: "Most people think it's funny but it's actually really seedy. There's a charity that comes down and puts condoms and lube in the trees.

"If I take you down you will not believe what you've seen, there are bin liners full of used condoms; I opened a bin liner once and my sister started gipping.

"My daughter's 21 and she came over once and said 'mum I've just seen a dogger' and I said to her 'it could have been a fisherman' and she said 'mum he had his penis in his hand', they just walk around naked."

Yeah, but it could have been a fisherman.

Sharon said she has reported the problem to her MP and police but the dogging has not relented.

She's subsequently had to endure homophobic comments, but has insisted the sexuality of the doggers isn't the problem - it's the dogging.

She said: "It's massive. The truckers who do manage to park there [in the layby] on a night get propositioned, they knock on the cab and say 'd'ya fancy abit?'. There's no women at all, it's all men.

"Families want to walk down there and we have to warn them 'actually no it's a male dogging site down there' and we get homophobic comments, it's just terrible.

"If it were a female and male dogging site, I'd feel exactly the same - that just doesn't come in to it, it's the fact that it's a dogging site.

"There's a hotel 20 yards up the road, I'm sure they would appreciate the business."
