BrewDog Is Giving Out Free Pints For Voters In The General Election

Get your voice heard and get yourself a pint, not bad

In case you live in a cave and have only just emerged from your slumber 20 minutes ago - it's polling day for the general election today.

Voters have said they've 'never seen queues like it' at polling stations today, with the country realising their vote counts and braving the s*** weather to get out there and put an X in the box.

And, as a little 'thank you' for doing your civic duty and voting, BrewDog is offering anyone who votes a free pint - not bad, eh?

BrewDog

The Scottish brewery has launched its Vote Punk campaign and will hand over a free pint of Punk IPA to anyone who has taken a selfie of themselves outside a polling station. Simple enough. The company doesn't care which party you vote for, as long as you get out there and do it.

James Watt, Captain of BrewDog, said: "Casting a vote is any citizen's duty and a responsibility not to be taken lightly. That's why we are rewarding anyone who votes in this general election with a Punk IPA on us.

"We're not affiliated with any political party or movement, choosing to settle our differences over a pint instead, and now we can offer you the chance to do both - voting on the 12th and then having a beer on us the same day.

"Voting is its own reward, but since 2017 we have gone further and doubled that reward with a Punk IPA on us for anyone who exercises their democratic right.

"On 12 December we want to see as many Polling Station selfies as we can in our bars, and will ensure that whoever you voted for, we can all agree that if you Vote Punk, everyone wins."

Now, just a quick word of warning - make sure you do take your selfie outside the polling station. It's an offence to photograph your - or anyone else's - ballot paper and share it online.

If you're found breaking this rule, you could be whacked with a £5,000 ($6,500) fine or even face time in jail, which is absolutely not worth it for a free pint, so just make sure you're outside next to that nice big Polling Station sign.

And don't forget to vote!
