Burning Object Spotted Spiralling Through The Sky In The UK
A couple were stunned when they spotted a flying object burning across the night sky earlier this week.
According to reports, the unidentified object was seen spiralling through the air for around 20 minutes before it eventually landed some way in the distance.
Gerry Underwood lives in Cambridge and says he noticed the bizarre sight at about 8pm last Wednesday.
The 55-year-old was enjoying 'a little fire outside' with his partner Melanie when they saw the fiery trail skimming through the sky, and decided to get it on film.
Speaking about the strange encounter, Gerry sad: "It looked like a very thick chemtrail to start with. It looked like a short, skinny cloud.
"It wasn't moving quickly at all. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a meteorite because they are gone in seconds.
"We have seen hundreds of shooting stars but this definitely wasn't that either.
"This was coming down very slowly and spiralling. It started to glow orange as you can see in the pictures.
"There were flames coming out of the back of it as well. It was really unusual."
Gerry says he was watching the incredible sight for around 10 to 20 minutes before it landed.

He added: "The sheer size of it is what's got me. When you look at the pictures, they show the trees in the foreground and it's way beyond that, it was very big.
"It landed beyond the horizon, that's how big it was - we couldn't see it land.
"We see a lot of strange things down the river, but that's the first time we've ever seen something like that."
But while there's no suggestion that what Gerry saw was otherworldly, it's not the first time people have spotted strange sights in the night sky.
In November last year, the conspiracy theorists were out in full force after a video started doing the rounds claiming to be proof of alien life.
YouTube account Terry's Theories shared a clip which shows three fast moving objects pass over the moon, followed by a single 'craft' a few seconds later.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a poorly Photoshopped attempt to try and convince us aliens exist? Who knows.
But, in the comments section some people - or doubters - have said the three UFO could be birds.
However, one viewer wasn't convinced, writing: "This is one of the better videos I've seen. They definitely don't seem to be birds and appear to be flying in formation. The video quality is also particularly good in this one. Nice find!"
