Driver Unable To Grab Handbrake And Crashes Because Car Was So Messy

The car has been dubbed 'the messiest ever'

When it comes to motorists, they mainly fall into two categories - those who like to keep their car very neat and tidy, and those who take a more relaxed approach to their motor's interiors.

And then there's this:

The messy car was involved in a crash, according to police.

The car, branded 'the messiest ever' for obvious reasons, was so full of rubbish and junk that the owner ended up involved in a crash because they couldn't grab the handbrake in time, police have said.

According to cops, the driver parked the car, but then wasn't able to get to the handbrake quickly enough to stop it rolling backwards and hitting another vehicle.

Hampshire Police were called out to investigate the incident and upon arrival spotted just how packed full of... stuff the car was.

Some items - such as the Bags for Life, newspapers and empty food wrappers - make sense, I guess. But cops also found plant life, electronic items (including a fan), a bucket and an upside-down stool - you never know when that will come in handy, eh?

Sharing photos of the crammed car online, Hampshire Police wrote: "Boris Johnson's car is a dream compared to this one!

"Driver couldn't get the hand brake on and rolled back into a parked vehicle. I wonder why?"

The sly dig aimed at the MP - and current front-runner for the leadership of the Conservative Party - refers to a number of photos that have popped up showing the inside of Johnson's Toyota Previa, which was strewn with all kinds of rubbish and mud on the seats. Tut tut.

The car was strewn with all kinds of litter and junk.

The post by Hampshire Police has attracted a lot of attention on social media, with many wondering how someone could drive around in a car like that. Others tagged their mates, who presumably also need to give their car a valet.

Thankfully there are no reports of any injuries in relation to the crash. Officers are yet to say if the driver will face charges over the incident.
