Katie Price has been forced to stop her marathon attempt following a knee injury.

Thirty-nine-year-old Katie is reported to have stopped running around the 10-15km mark, the full route is 42km.

She was running with a bad knee to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation and had previously vowed to finish the race even if she had to 'crawl'. However, it looks as though her injury coupled with the warm weather took their toll and it was previously reported she wouldn't be likely to cross the finish line until 7pm this evening.

According to the Mirror she was overheard telling fans: "I can't. I want to stop now" as they attempted to cheer her on during the run.

Looking good, mate.

Her tracker stopped somewhere between 10 and 15km; shortly after she was snapped being passed by the event's safety trucks.

A copper was snapped wearing the giant lungs Katie had been running in while on his bike, so it's good to see they didn't go to waste, because they are really something.

Despite not finishing the course,Katie has already exceeded her £2,000 target, with her total donations (including Gift Aid) standing at £2,254 as I write.

Katie set herself the challenge after her mum Amy was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis last year.

But she was realistic about how tough it would be, telling Daily Mirror: "If I collapse, I better fucking get up again.

"But even if I end up having to crawl, I will get over that line. Whatever has gone on in my life this year, I'll put that aside on the day."

Talking about the problems with her knees she said: "[My knees] buckle now. Between two to six miles, they're gone, my knees are destroyed.

"But there's absolutely no way I will pull out. This is for my mum, it's important.

"Whatever happens. I don't care if it takes me a week. I am crossing that line."

She admitted to Heat magazine that she hadn't attempted to run the full distance before the big event, saying she would rather 'save [her] strength for marathon day'.
